I was wondering if anyone had some good resources for starting a webseries. I don't have any experience when it comes to actually creating a webseries but am interested in learning more. Looking for a beginners guide of sorts.

No prob. If I stumble on anything else in my net-tly wanderings I'll toss them in this thread. I find more things by accident than if I actively look for them.
There are several blogs that will give you a leg up if you follow them. NoFilmSchool, TubeFilter and ReelSEO come to mind first. You can also check out my site, GraphicDesignNYC.net. I cover a range of interests for the digital and visual creative. I also recommend the YouTube Creators Playbook. It's good for all the little details that make a big difference with producing and marketing your work on their service. Also, if you are ever in NYC, hit me up. We do networking events for video/web producers every month! Good luck and if you find any other interesting resources please share! @GraphicDesignNY
Erin, go take a look at www.crazymantv.com. It's an original character that I play, and created a series of episodes on basically ZERO budget. I'm trying to pitch the concept to network TV.

On my blog I have collected a bunch of useful links http://britishwebseries.blogspot.co.uk/p/articles.html
Thanks for all the suggestions!
Look towards Community Access in your area first. Find a Certified Producer willing to do a weekend shoot with equipment from the Access Channel to start. Unless you have a spare hundred thousand lying around unused.
Hi Erin! I have one more suggestion for you. Check out "Forget The Rules." This was a webisode series created in Australia featuring an ensemble cast and it was an unbelievable success its first year (don't know about subsequent years...). They had a unique strategy that broadcast the series cross-platform - even on mobile devices - and worked on a subscription basis. Here's the link for an interview of the creators: http://tinyurl.com/b5vmq2z. If you have a mind to - let me know what you think!

I recommend Byte Sized Television by Ross Brown. You can find it on amazon or most book stores. It really helped us break the process down. Good luck!
Great! Thank you!
