NM FILM WEEK SEPTEMBER 16, 2015 The kids are back in school, fall is in the air and social gatherings, such as Balloon Fiesta and film festivals, are coming up one right after the other. CAFFEINE & GASOLINE I spent this beautiful weekend working with director Steven Maes, Toby Younis, Rich Romero, Damian Montoya, Meghan Noce, Joe Martinez, Rosario Provenza, Kayleigh Maes, Brad Stoddard, Peter Lisignoli, Kenneth Segura Knoll, Oliver Galvan, Carma Harvey, Ivan Villars and Sallah Sigvert at the Duke City Rockers Rally for the documentary Caffeine and Gasoline. On Friday night we saw over 100 motorcycles in the parking lot at Tractor Brewing Wells Park and enjoyed the live music by The Shadow Men and yummy tacos, bought raffle tickets and joined in the excitement of the helmet auction with auctioneer Carlos Contreras. Commemorating the 9/11 kickoff date, those proceeds all went to Paws and Stripes, a local non-profit that works with veterans and dogs. On Saturday morning, we gathered at the Owl Café to watch the beginning of the ride to Madrid then we set up for interviews at the Route 66 Malt Shop. There was another great event that evening with awards for motorcycle builders at the Albuquerque Press Club. You can view some of the photos of the weekend rally on our Facebook pages and you can get involved in this locally produced documentary by contributing to the crowdfunding campaign here. PEOPLE & PETS Creative Juices Productions is hosting a fundraiser for Watermelon Mountain Ranch, the state’s largest no-kill animal rescue organization.
