Martin. INDUSTRY ON THE RISE New Mexico Women in Film invites you to their upcoming “Industry on the Rise” event on Sunday, September 27 from 3 to 6 pm. There will be a panel discussion with New Mexico's top industry professionals including Eric Witt, New Mexico Film Policy Advisor, Tobi Ives, Senior Manager of Production for the New Mexico Film Office, Crystal McAlerney, Studio Concierge at Albuquerque Studios and Dirk Norris, Executive Director of the New Mexico Film Foundation. The event will take place at Fox Road Studio, 2350 Fox Road, Suite 200, Santa Fe. Members get in free and guests pay $15. SANTA FE FILM FESTIVAL EVENTS Nani Rivera, Executive Director of the Santa Fe Film Festival, stopped by our studio last week to talk about upcoming events including a Poster Release Party on Friday, September 25 from 6 to 8 pm at the Sorrel Sky Gallery in Santa Fe. The15th Annual Santa Fe Film Festival Poster will be revealed and there will be an opportunity to buy limited edition festival SWAG, along with special discount tickets to the festival, which takes place December 2-6, this year. Tickets for the fundraiser party are $50 and include a signed copy of this year’s poster by artist in attendance Jack Dunn, live music, and complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Also, the 3rd Annual Shoot Santa Fe Pilot Project has extended the deadline for submission from October 1st through November 30th. The winner of the 2013 competition, “t@gged” will be produced in New Mexico throughout the next few weeks in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Directed by third-generation native New Mexican, Hannah Macpherson, the production will employ at least 60 New Mexico crew members and approximately 250 local background talent. PANEL PANDORA Nick Maniatis and Tobi Ives of the New Mexico Film Office remind us to register for the upcoming New Mexico Film and Media Industry Conference. Some of the scheduled panels include “The Future of Television” with Luke Ryan of the Alchemists and John Coveny of Longmire; “Emerging Media” with Eric Renz-Whitmore of the New Mexico Technology Council, Amanda Solosky of Rival Theory, Scott Maloney of Seed Worthy and Jared Tarbell, co-founder of Etsy; and also “SAG Franchised Talent Houses” with Jo Edna Boldin, Jody Black and Carissa Mitchell. There will be fun parties including the IATSE sponsored Halloween Bowling, Laser Tag and Karaoke event on Friday, October 30 and an exciting closing event with surprise celebrity guests on Saturday, October 31.
