Now that many months of war have ended the Kingdom of Maelienydd can rejoice with the new spring. The household of Generys, the Healer, and her orphaned girls have plenty of reason to celebrate as Wren, the eldest, had been promised to King Maelgwyn in marriage. However to replenish the Kingdom's coffers Gwirion, the King's Sage, arranged for another marriage offer for the King to the daughter of a wealthy lord. Wren is heartbroken, the peaceful spring turns to tragedy and a fight for revenge.
