In order to test my skill filming a MV, I set the stakes, planning in under 30 minutes and filming in under 3 hours. I teamed up with Amanda DeFreitas who had a love for Wings by Little Mix and I was excited to hear her cover of the empowering track! It was one of those "You free? Meet you in Durand in an hour," type of situation. With lyrics, that uplift you about the negative voices that may be around you and not letting other people hold you back, it is hard not to love this track: "Mama told me not to waste my life, She said spread your wings my little butterfly Don't let what they say keep you up at night And they can't detain you 'Cause wings are made to fly..." I wanted to highlight talent in Hamilton, specifically marginalized groups in Hamilton, as well as the city. I wonder what neighborhood is next? I wonder, what artist will be next?
