This video is about the volunteers Crooked Trails took to a remote village in Nepal. We did a home-stay with families in the village of Chandeni. In previous years Crooked Trails volunteers built two schools for the community. This year we helped build a water system and toilets for the schools. Although Nepal is known for its poverty (and the Himalayas), it is a breathtakingly beautiful place, with lush, subtropical lands, terraced rice fields, and wonderfully gracious people. The voice-over was by Chris Mackay, executive director of CrookedTrails.org. Equipment used: still photos: Nikon D90, video: Canon VIXIA HF200, audio: Sennheiser G3 wireless lavalier mic. The animation was done in After Effects. I got permission to use the song by the Nepalese band Kutumi (they promote the building of schools in Nepal). It was assembled with voice-over in Premiere Pro.
