Two children’s birthday party entertainers suffer a messy bromantic break up while doing battle with a legion of local entertainment rivals in an attempt to score their dream gig.
SYNOPSIS:
Lifelong friends, Levi Kidd and Pete fancy themselves the Jagger/Richards of birthday party acts and perform for toddlers of the well-to-do suburbs in elaborate pirate costumes. Levi, bitterly denied his own childhood birthday parties because of his status as a leap year baby and Pete, a sad child of divorce, have fully devoted their lives to birthday party showbiz. As a result, they are deeply adored by youthful audiences – as well as a selection of nannies, au pairs, and single moms.
Levi is a prima donna and is very much the leader of the duo. He delights the riotous, suburban urchins with borderline-safe magic tricks involving exploding rubber chickens and disappearing household pets. Pete, the lovable sidekick, brings his cherished guitar to each gig for toddler sing-alongs only to be denied, time and again by the authoritarian Levi.
When legendary entertainer, The VenTHRILLoquist and his dummy Vanilli announce their retirement, all of the local birthday party entertainers (clown, princess, pony ride handler, and a reptile-petting enthusiast) position themselves to become the successor.
Not only is The VenTHRILLoquist the most celebrated party act in town, but he also hosts the town’s annual and immensely popular SummerFest. Every showbiz rival worth their salt knows that landing the SummerFest headliner gig will instantly propel him/her to top dog status.
Levi and Pete spring into action when The VenTHRILLoquist appoints his comely niece, Trudy to find the new act to replace him. Once Levi discovers that Trudy, a single mother herself and teacher at the local elementary school, is dearly drawn to Pete’s guitar playing and sappy, romantic balladry, he concocts a scheme for Pete to woo her and lock up the coveted SummerFest gig.
Trouble arises when Pete grows weary of his sidekick role. After many unheeded warnings as well as some encouragement from Trudy, Pete splits with Levi to venture out as a solo act. Following a messy bromantic break up, the two become sworn enemies locked in a battle for SummerFest.
In the end, and after a wild and vengeful period of sabotaging each other’s birthday party performances that eventually spirals into a disastrous, knock-down-drag-out melee at SummerFest (it takes a pillage!), Levi and Pete learn that teamwork is their true magic. The two reunite as equal partners and quickly regain their standing as the most beloved children’s party act in town.

Wow! Thank you, Sarah!! Those are very kind words - and I enjoyed reading them! They're a rather nice pat on the back after a long day at the keyboard. Thanks again! ...and good luck to you. I see you're a screenwriter too.
