Francis LaLonde's Photo Bounty II docked on the first full day of the Tall Ship Celebration (2010) in Bay City (Bay County), Michigan, US. This was one of the stops for the Great Lakes United Tall Ships Challenge® – 2010, when a fleet of tall ships arrived in town (the previous day, during the Parade of Sail) for the weekend, offering tours of the ships, sailing excursions on some vessels, and several special events around town. This photograph was taken along the east bank of the Saginaw River. This is a naval cannon on the deck of Bounty II. Bounty II was a reconstruction of the original HMS Bounty. Bounty II (popularly, though incorrectly, called HMS Bounty) was built in 1960, and sank in 2012 during Hurricane Sandy, with the loss of two crew members. She was a full-rigged / fully rigged ship. She was originally built for the 1962 film Mutiny on the Bounty. Following that, she was used for promotion and entertainment, and appeared in the 1990 film Treasure Island. After suffering lack of maintenance, she was restored in 2002. Bounty II was then again used for entertainment and promotions. She also appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, and even in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. #1097267574455936718
