Hello Everyone, I joined Stage32 just a few weeks ago and loving all the connections! I trained as an actor/director/producer, work professionally as a writer and am slowly working to finish a couple of scripts for my own pleasure. One is a true story about the lives of the people I do charity work with in Cape Town (pretty amazing tales from the township) and the other about a blind woman teaching a man to see. Would love to connect with producers and filmmakers looking to do indie projects in LA, Paris and Cape Town :) In general I love connecting with everyone - you never know where a connection will take you. Could be a smile, a day of laughter, a new job, a new love, a change of paths, a new friend...you just never know! Please connect!

Ellen - People tend to call me inspirational :) I guess I've always walked the path less traveled. For better and worse LOL. I love what I do though. Lovely to connect with you and have a wonderful Christmas! Hope to hear more about what you are doing - feel free to send me note!

You're so right. Nobody knows where a connection will lead, and many times, it's the one you least expect that takes you to the greatest of places.

@Debbie - isn't that so true?! Only last week someone I met up with to talk about my business with (met her through LinkedIn) ended up recommending me as a writer to her boss and I'm meeting him tomorrow! Quite unexpected. I love networking and am penning a blog post about it for LinkedIn as we speak - there really is magic in meetings :)
@RB thank you! I came across this network when you posted about it on LinkedIn some time ago. Thanks for recommending me to join and kudos to you for setting it up! Let me know if there are any networking events coming up in L.A. - would love to attend and meet everyone behind it. Such a brilliant platform.

Thank you so much for the note, Maria, and for all you are already bringing to the network. There are always events happening in LA including many Stage 32 member meetups. Be sure to check out the Meetup section of the Lounge often. Thanks again for all the positive energy and for spreading the word of 32 to your creative peers!

Ah, I knew there'd be a button for it somewhere! Thank you. :) Speaking of inspiring stories, this guy blew my mind today with offering to help a homeless man make a movie here on Stage32: http://www.stage32.com/lounge/producing/Anyone-willing-to-help I got so inspired I included it in a LinkedIn blog - such a sweet tale. I hope it gets a happy ending. True spirit of Christmas. And on that note - Happy Holidays!

Welcome Maria! I too am fairly new, member since October. I agree! Wonderful connections being made here at Stage 32. I would love to connect and learn more. I'm in LA transitioning from bestselling BOOK author to screenwriter/filmmaker. I have two projects in the works for 2015, a doc/possibly feature based on my own personal story of transformation, and a feature based in Paris. Please let me know how I can support you in any way. Cheers! www.CaliGilbert.com

Hey Cali - wow talk about synchronicity: I'm writing two features: one is set in LA and Paris (the tale of the blind woman) and the other is my personal story about how I ended up working in a township in Africa and the tales of the extraordinary women and children I met there! www.littleangelsincapetown.wordpress.com My mission is to take the Little Angels to the City of Angels. Also, like you, I'm a social entrepreneur. I'm in San Fran at the moment, but how about we meet when I get down to LA? I would love to learn more about your seemingly very inspiring journey! :)

Hi Maria, Welcome to stage 32. Jed's been keeping me up to date with what you're doing in SA. Sounds great. Andrew
Andrew! How are you? How are Sophia and Kate? I love what I do in Cape Town. I miss everyone in London and working with SofA/KADA grads though - I'm planning to email Neil and see if he can send a few over LOL :) I'm so praying to slowly but surely finish those scripts and do some directing again. Although, as usual, business comes first! Merry Christmas from California :)
