Greetings everyone, My name is Robert Woods. I was born in Denver, Colorado in 1936, (as Donald Eugene Lublough) and placed in The Colorado Home For Abused & Abandoned Children by my teen-aged single mother, Doris. Fortunately adopted at ten months old, by Robert and Elouise Woods, who became my parents of record and raised me initially, on a ranch near Great Divide, Colorado. They ultimately sold the ranch and we moved to Boulder where I attended Boulder High School. At the end of the Korean Campaign, I joined the Navy and served nearly four years, from 1954 to 1957, then attended San Diego State College, went to Hollywood, then New York. Studied acting in New York with Boris Marshalov and worked briefly at the famed 'Circle In The Square', before traveling to Paris to work in 'The American Theater' on the Quay D'Orsey. While doing an adaptation of Chekhov's 'Seagull', I was requested to fly to Barcelona, Spain to do a screen test for, of all things, a Western. Subsequently signed to a contract to star in five features, I began my film career as a leading actor in a movie entitled, "Five Thousand Dollars on the Ace". Although it was the first Western ever done at the famous 'Balcazar Studio' in Barcelona, it was not the first Western to be done in Europe. It was however, the initial 'EuroWestern' to be sold to MGM and the American market and historically, was the unheralded father of a gender that became known as the 'Spaghetti Western'. Shortly after the release of "$5000 On The Ace", Clint Eastwood arrived in Italy and Spain to begin filming Sergio Leone's "Fist Full Of Dollars". That wonderful break-through 'EuroWestern' became the second purchased by MGM... and 'Europe's Golden Age Of Cinema' was officially begun. A year later, "For a Few Dollars More" was the number one box office hit in the World and my fourth film, "Seven Guns For The McGregors" was number two. During that wonderful period, Clint returned to America and became the biggest star in the World and I chose to settle permanently in Rome, blessed to be flown all over the World to star in over fifty films. I have been very fortunate to have been honored for my body of work at several major film festivals... Venice, Italy (2007) - Torino, Italy (2007) - Almeria Spain (2013) and another festival here in North Hollywood, "The First Annual Spaghetti Western Film Festival Of Los Angeles" (2011) . In the late seventies, I returned to the States to produce a film entitled "Bruce Lee, The Man and the Myth" in San Fransisco and after we wrapped, I made an earth shattering decision to permanently return to America, acknowledging that it was time to stop being a gypsy and settle down. I met and married a wonderful Austrian woman, Susanne and together, we raised a brilliant math whiz of a son, Christopher, During that time, we purchased a house in the Valley and we've been there ever since, traveling back and forth to Europe a couple of times a year to visit friends and family and to Colorado to spend time some quality with my mother and father before they passed away. After my son graduated from U. C. Santa Barbara and had, quite naturally become a CPA, moved out and got married, I decided it was time to explore show business once more... this time with a new look...'Old'... I began again with a small role in a sweet little film called: "Threshold".... after it was wrapped, I received a wonderful script for a film in Italy, entitled: "Romanzo Calabrese/The Redemption Of A Man" After a brief negotiation, they flew me to Rome in August 2014, to star in it. We filmed in Morano Calabro (Calabria) and in Rome. At the end of September, immediately after my work there was finished, I flew back home to do a role in the eclectic American film, "Of Fortune and Gold" which was filmed at the Grand Canyon, The Mojave Desert and Los Angeles. I discovered I still love the work and with incredible new technology afoot, it just gets better and better. I am scheduled to do another Spaghetti Western, this Fall entitled: "The Resurrection Of El Puro". A trailer for it is already up on the internet, with more publicity to follow. It is a sequel to my film, 'El Puro" that in my youth, enjoyed a great success and found its way into 'cult' status... I was inducted to the Spaghetti Western Hall Of Fame in 2011 and you can find me on: wikipedia, IMDb, IMDbpro, linkedin, facebook, spaghettiwesterndatabase, youtube (actorrobertwoodsfanpage/youtube) and/or actorrobertwoods on any search engine... I am very grateful for life and the opportunity to network you... Peace and Blessings, Robert
