Introduce Yourself : Writer, Producer, Director, Editor by Michel Massicotte

Michel Massicotte

Writer, Producer, Director, Editor

Hello from Ottawa, Canada. So nice to be part of a global community in the entertainment industry. I joined Stage 32 in October last year, and continue to be amazed by this resource. In terms of this global community, I think of a production involving members of this site, with each person from a different country, and wonder how the product would turn out. I think it would be pretty exciting if not revolutionary for the variety of cultures involved. :)

Hi Michel - that would be pretty interesting, like a "Stage 32 Intl." production... :) Other than documentary, what kind of project could it be... sci-fi? I think the TV series "Touch" did something of a sort, showing how people are connected regardless of location. It would show parts in Paris spoken in French, then it would jump to the middle east and switch the Arabic. It was definitely unique and very interesting approach.

Hi Tomasz. I am thinking of a different type of collaboration from start to finish. Say people from different countries work on a production as producers and another skill or skills. They would all be producers to collaborate on content, and then work on their skill of choice. Therefore, and for example, an executive producer from the United States, a camera operator from South Africa, a director of photography from Israel, a director from France, an editor from the UK, and an actor from Italy, to name a few tasks. Each person could be in charge of a department and hire the talent they want, or again, and if time permitted, all would decide on the crews to be hired. I might be looking at things from an idealistic point of view, but I think the end product would be interesting.

Love your idea!!! I am from Belgium originally.... :-)

Rosalind Winton

I'm from South East England, I'm a literary editor and I write lyrics and songs, would be great to contribute something to your project :)

Richard "RB" Botto

Love the post, Michael, and I thank you for the kind words.

Hi Richard. My pleasure. Praising this site is easy when its concept is simple yet revolutionary. Working in the entertainment industry is difficult enough in itself, but putting all resources in one location and making them accessible to all members is a tremendous gift.

Hi Joey, and thank you for the introduction. I am looking forward to connecting with the other Canadian talent and learn about their success and challenges. Should make for lively discussions. :)

I think your idea would make a great project and I would like to lend my support to you if you decide to persue it!
