I am actively pursuing all channels to get my work out there, and have put one of my screenplays up on the site- wondering if anyone else has done so, and what their experience has been.
I have used the site a few times. If you're looking for detailed coverage on your screenplay, then I would suggest looking at a different website. However, if you are looking to see where your script stands with the "professional" people in the business, I think it's a great choice. The added bonus being if your script gets a high rating, there is a decent chance of you making some important connections through the site. If you have the extra money to spend ($50 for a feature or one-hour pilot, $30 half-hour pilots, and the $25 hosting fee) then I would say go for it. Their customer service is great, so if you have any problems just email them and they will take care of you. The reviews will provide short descriptions of the script's "strengths" and "weaknesses." You'll also be rated (1-10 scale) on your setting, premise, plot, character and dialogue. Anything above a 7 overall rating is wonderful.
Hi Robert! The Black List has been the subject of many many threads and thoroughly discussed. I kindly suggest you do a general search in the Lounge. At the top just type "The Black List" in the search bar and all threads/posts regarding the site and its founder will be shown. :)
