The dreaded topic of distribution. I have just completed a full length independent film and where do I go from here? The traditional distributors are not interested because they have a long line of films by well known producers. For me it seems like aggregation, VOD is the only way. So frustrating when you put your life into a project. Any advice out there let me know. Blessings...

Hi Ernesto! SHORTies may be an interesting option for you. It's a connected device & cable box television channel devoted to streaming short & indie feature films. For more info, visit http://bit.ly/shortiestv or just message me.

ER --- You're not alone. I agree that VOD is the wave of the future. There are a number of streaming video channels coming out of the woodwork, threatening to do to TV what TV did to theaters. --- CGM

How many distributors have you approached? I guess you're looking for theatrical, right? I am in the same situation, knowing that VOD is the future I still wanna go theatrical first, I'm thinking of self distribution, but the problem is getting the money to do it.

We are in this same situation as Ernesto. We are almost done with post. We have a teaser on Vimeo. We still would like to start with any kind of theatrical distribution and have some money left for maketing and promo. We have names in our cast. I coproduced.

Do it yourself. Most film studios will have this set ahead of time before making a film (they make sure the niche market is interested, network with leaders in the genre, go to events and mingle, and they research where they watch films). Collecting emails is a must. Your audience is your business. Without an audience you have no business. I use these tools: go to www.distribber.com for digital. Go to www.tugg.com for theatrical. I use www.kunaki.com for all my DVD and drop shopping to stores. There are also wonder tools for cheap like www.vhx.tv for digital. If there is a market for your film and you have done the upfront work to building your support for your niche movie ahead of time then success is possible. Good luck with the film! Hope it goes well.

Please go to http://blackwolfmediagroup.com and select "Film Submissions" under Quick Links, provide the requested information about your film, and we'll screen it and contact you to discuss options going forward.
