This is my third request to have my screenplay from a written pitch on Stage 32. All of my pitches have been written as I am in a different time zone, and pitching live is not my strength. I am very ADHD, and the kind of person whose anxiety made me always blow tests, even though I knew the material - so the ability to do a written pitch is a godsend for me. I'm afraid I would be a "deer in headlights" on Skype. That said, I have a tough time writing words about words I wrote - if you know what I mean. How impossible it is for those of us who do character driven softer low stakes stories where the magic of the story can only be seen when someone actually reads the screenplay. I know there must be a better way to write my pitch than I have done, but I'm still figuring that out. That said, I am thrilled when someone from a company like ICM decides to take a chance and actually ask to read the screenplay. Whew!! Thank you Stage 32!!!!! Frank make use of your ADHD, it can be more of a benefit, than a detriment. Besides it's possible it helps keep your artistic edge. Good luck !

Melody - Thank you for asking. That said, I really think my synopsis still needs work. The companies that "passes" have lots to say about how I could improve it :-) I have to admit it was tough and what gave me a good start was I paid for a professional script consultation from Virtualpitchfest.com The actual analysis I completely disagreed with. They guy told me to make the whole thing about a contest for a high school band???? - totally off point. Luckily at that point the screenplay had already won a couple of awards, so I knew better than to go off the deep end for a consultation that I didn't agree with. However, as part of the service he wrote a synopsis of the existing screenplay. I hated most of it, but that spurred me to edit/rewrite it and got me going. It was much easier than starting from scratch. More expensive, but ultimately it was worth it for that alone.
