I've been working on this historical biopic that I wrote about my grandmother's experience during the fire "bomb" raids in Japan. I worked it to be a feature, but it only got to like 52 pages, so I hoped maybe I could just pass it off as a short -- but then I saw all competitions only take 40 (most was 30) and under. I really don't want to take out any more important details from her experience and I'm having trouble finding out what more to add. Thoughts?

Mmm well if you'd like I can take a look (would likely get back to you over the weekend) and give you feedback. christopherbinder@hotmail.com

All is Lost is a 32 page script which turned into a 106 minute feature. Oculus was originally a 15 minute short. If you've written a complete 3 act story in 52 pages then let a industry exec tell you it's too lean or skeletal. The unofficial standard is 75-80 page minimum for a feature film. Script length is subjective to the buyer or filmmaker involved.

If it's going to a contest, you'll have to adhere by their rules, aside from that watch a film that has something similar to your grandmother's story. This should help inspire you to come out with more ideas :)
Yeah, I looked up popular feature films with short times and a lot (surprisingly) were like around 55-70 minutes long. I was just hoping I hadn't run into an abnormal situation since films these days are like 120+ min long now.
