Hi everyone! I'm a very experienced theater producer in the Washington, DC area who is beginning to enter the world of film! To that end, I just completed a FITS seminar with Carol Kravetz to train as a Production Office Coordinator. A very interesting and informative offering from the WV Film Office! I enjoy learning anything I do from "the ground up" and like to know it inside-out from many angles. That means I'll be taking other classes as I can find them - and working various jobs as I can. This new world fascinates me with the myriad opportunities - producing, location scouting (LOVE to travel and discover new places), first AD, UPM, PoC, etc .. I hope to learn all about them! I'm living mostly in West Virginia now to serve as an executor for an estate but normally live near Washington, DC. I'm also close to Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia so will be looking for opportunities there to start with, along with WV. I can always travel for a short-term position even now and, once my executor duty is done, I will be looking for a job that lets me travel to various locations around the US and world. Some of my best skills - Planning, organizing, execution of same. Excellent proofreader. Work with all temperaments and personalities. Realist yet always optimistic! Remaining calm in crisis. Can "roll with the punches" and make good decisions on the fly. COMMON SENSE. And great sense of humor! Curious and love to learn. I look forward to connecting with, and learning from, all of you!!
Theresa, I've never worked in the area, but I think the only major networks in that area are Nat Geo and maybe the Discovery Channel's satellite office? Maybe look for some opportunities there in addition to indie projects and on-location projects.
