I finished the final draft of my TV pilot a couple of months ago and decided to start pitching on Stage32. I've done 2 Skype pitches and submitted 3 written pitches. After my first Skype pitch the company requested my script. Recently they sent back word that they weren't interested in the idea but that they loved the writing and asked my permission to show my script to some other reps they work with. Even if they only show it to one other rep that's essentially one free pitch that I don't even have to prepare for. My second Skype pitch was a pass but my pitch scored all 4s which I take as a win as it was only the second time I had ever pitched anything to anyone. I was also invited to a special pitch session because my material fit the format and genre that the company was specifically looking for. I haven't heard back on that one yet but since the session was for written pitches only I was forced to write up a pitch from scratch. Once the pitch was finished I realized how handy it really is to have a written pitch in your back pocket. It allows you to submit to more pitch sessions with less effort and planning. I've submitted it twice and it has already gotten my pilot requested by a second company. Even the rep I submitted it to who wasn't all that impressed with it provided me valuable feedback in my score card which I am using to refine my written pitch.
Hang in there
