Introduce Yourself : My name is Jamie and I love Shakespeare! <3 by Jamie Sowers

I have been a Stage32 member for a while now, but I have yet to "introduce" myself. Here it goes! I have appeared in over 60 theatrical productions across Los Angeles and Orange County, California. Local theatregoers may have seen me in WCT’s production of 'Almost, Maine' as one of four actors portraying nineteen love-struck characters. Hollywood audiences may know me as a guest artist of Write Act Repertory, debuting in 'Chili Con Carnage' as RickiJean, a battered roadkill chef, and the world premiere production of 'Hit Man' as Shelly, a seductive assassin. In September 2011, I embarked on a year-long postgraduate journey to study theatre history and criticism in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. During my time in Stratford, I appeared as Rosalind in 'As You Like It', Saturninus in 'Titus Andronicus', and Beatrice-Joanna in 'The Changeling' with the Shakespeare Institute Players. The Stratford-upon-Avon Herald, named AYLI the Shakespeare Institute's "best performance to date" and my portrayal of Rosalind “the right balance of heroine, quaintness, determination and grace." I recently wrapped an independent film called The Incarnation, which will be submitted to the 2015/16 festival season. Last year, I left my day job to pursue my passion for acting and arts education.
