Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter. by Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Screenwriter.

Hello Everyone... I live in Toronto, Canada. I write Features, mostly in the crime/suspense/mystery/thriller genre. If you've just joined Stage 32, it's a great place to be. 2015 was a banner year for me. For the first time, I entered and placed in contests. I was invited to the Bahamas Screenwriter's Residency Program.... which was amazing.... only 12 writers were invited. All the mentors were from L.A. It was totally awesome. My goal for 2016, finish the novel I started and then adapt it into a screenplay... and hopefully get a writing assignment in my genre. Best to all, -Sylvia

Jorge J Prieto

Always great to hear from you and your projects, Sylvia, girlfriend. You make us proud.

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Aawww Jorge, muchas gracias. I'm already booked for the Nashville Writer's Conference in April. Since the Bahamas experience, I'm now really keen to meet decision makers face-to-face and have one-on-ones again. You're a serious writer, you should come. How's it going with you? Any goals set for this year?

Phillip E. Hardy, "The Real Deal"

Good work Sylvia and you are an awesome writer and supportive friend. I wish you continuing success.

Nina C.

Nice to meet you...Great place to network and make new friends.

Richard "RB" Botto

The wonderful, amazing, talented, Sylvia!

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Dear Phillip, thank you so much for your kind words. YOU always inspire me to do better. How's it going?

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Hey Nina, I just sent you a 'request' to connect. Let's connect. I look forward to meeting you as well.

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Thank you RB. I watched your Oscars webinar with Alex Ferrari just this afternoon. Enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for posting it. I was there 'live'... but kept losing the connection. So I was thrilled to get a second chance. You and Alex are so damn brilliant with your critiques. It's great to hear opinions from folks that live down there in the trenches. Thank you again. I'm going to send a note to Alex as well. XOXO

Dana Bidlake

Just wanted to say hi

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Hello Dana. How's it going?

Jorge J Prieto

Sylvia, I'm writing a romance, with my usual dark twist, my 7 screenplay, hope to have 9 by the end of 2016. Gotta write them as they come or else I lose them. Cheers!

Jeff White

Hi Sylvia, just saying hello and commending you on your work. Definitely inspirational.

Juan Francisco Calero

Welcome Sylvia!! Your 2016 sounds promising. Glad you're around in this community

Robert Rosenbaum

Hey Sylvia. Congrats on your residency. Glad it went so well. I remember how excited you were to get it. I'm still working on my script from the NWC, hoping to finish this month. Better late then never - lol

Richard "RB" Botto

Thanks for watching the webcast, Sylvia, and for all the kind words! Alex and I had a blast putting it together. We'll see if any of our handicapping pays off on Oscar night!

Jorge J Prieto

I feel you, Robert, but like RB, just told me: Take it one day at a time. You got this, brother.

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Hey all, I voted for my Oscar picks here on Stage 32. A great benefit?... you still have time to change your mind/vote before the deadline. Hmmm... I'm already having second thoughts about a couple of them. Darn! Have fun everyone!!

Richard "RB" Botto

Tough sledding this year, Sylvia! Some truly wide open categories!

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

That's what makes it even more exciting. No shoe-ins. So looking forward to it. I even sent ballots over to my restaurant for all my customers to partake. My staff think I'm weird. LOL

Phillip E. Hardy, "The Real Deal"

Sylvia: As a writer, I often feel like this guy.

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Hahahahahaha.... I know, right? Thanks for the belly laugh Phil. xo

Richard "RB" Botto

I love that you handed out ballots, Sylvia. Simply classic.

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

@Aray... it's a suspense/thriller, based on a true story... set in San Francisco... about a young runaway that moves into a rooming house and soon discovers that the new guy in the room next to hers has just been released from a psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. I have 15 chapters written and plan to adapt it into a screenplay when it's done. Hopefully finish it this year.

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

@Jeff E... hello neighbor. How's it going?

Samuel Larson

The Canada-to-Bahamas trip must have felt incredible, I'm from the North as well and can barely make it through these winters!

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

@Samuel... Welcome to Stage 32 !! Thank you, yes the trip was fantastic, apart from the mentorship, I got to fly in a WWII plane from one island to the next. We were lucky this year, pretty mild until the last 3 weeks. The last 2 years were brutal so I'm not complaining. How's it going? What are you working on?

Sylvia Marie Llewellyn

Hi Jeff.... no I don't... haven't tried... they tend to do period pieces I think. But if you have an agent have him/her contact them... because they don't accept unsolicited scripts. Sounds like Templar Odyssey is something they might like. All their contact info is on www.imdbpro.com if you can't access it... let me know. I'm a member.
