My Favorite Thing To Do In The Entertainment Industry? Help Others Succeed In It!

Can I Help You Find A Job? Or Get Your Project Produced Or Distributed? Or Get You Or Your Project Greater Visibility? I’m a producer for film & television; entertainment career coach; fundraising consultant ;publicist; and writer (now in Burbank, CA). I am always looking for new people I can help and meet with. I have gotten some new great projects here now underway and am seeking additional projects to join as a producer to help increase their funding and visibility. I am also looking for loglines of great stories to consider producing (only loglines, though, to determine if any interest----and note that all the projects & people I am working with seek to make the world a better place and are uplifting and inspiring!!! See my "desert island" film list in my profile here to know my tastes. I am also an entertainment industry career coach. Where is your show business career going in 2016 and beyond? What's been keeping you from your goals? I will help you get clarity on where you want to go and how to get there---and how to remove any blocks or obstacles holding you back. I would love to meet you in person---and help you...Whether you're looking to create greater success in your entertainment career or find greater visibility or funding for your project, I would love to help you (if I can) by meeting with you in the afternoon or early evening soon over coffee at my local Starbucks near Warner Brothers in Burbank, CA to help you with your projects and/or career... Connect with me here and on LinkedIn see my LinkedIn profile (under Dr. John B. Charnay) for my email and connect with me there, plus on Twitter, and here, and on my several Facebook pages (one personal, one as a producer and one for my firm, Charnay & Associates).

Eric: You are creative and clever. They definitely have potential...but definitely not for me. Pass! See my “desert island films” here and you’ll get why! (My types of films uplift and inspire mankind and seek to awaken mankind to its spiritual magnificence.) One suggestion: Improve their titles. Second suggestion: Find producers producing films like them/in that genre. That’s not me. Best of luck to you!

Zlatan Mustafica

Feel free to look over a couple of loglines I have, thus far, posted here on Stage 32, Mr. Charnay, and tell me what you think or if I can send you additional loglines of my work. Thank you in advance, Sir.

John Charnay

Zlatan: Cannot tell from loglines themselves what I think of your work...They may have potential, it seems. However, they are not in line with what I do (see “desert island films” listed). Cannot/do not review unsolicited material, however. I must pass! Best Of Luck To You!

Zlatan Mustafica

Of course, Sir, I understand and thank you for your time. Loglines can tell you only so much, of course. Anyway, myself and my work is available upon possible requests at all times. Thank you again, Sir.

Henry Tjernlund

I can certainly use help, but I'm located far, far away.

Greg Rempel

Nice to meet you, John. I'm an optioned screenwriter who has been writing professionally for 30 years on both the corporate side and the entertainment side. My screenplay, "3rd Degree" is currently in pre production and is scheduled to go before the camera in March.

Robert Rosenbaum

Hi John. I looked at your desert island films and had a question for you. My new screenplay "The Manny" (logline listed here) has been placing in contests and getting very good reviews. However, one placement was under an older title "The Role of a Lifetime." People told me the title harkened back to those wonderful comedies of the late 40's. Of course "The Manny" is much more contemporary and I think more salable. I would just like to get your thoughts on it and titles in general.

John Charnay

Robert: Reminds me (seems somewhat derivative) of “Who’s The Boss?” t.v. series. Comedy is difficult to fund. It depends on what A-listers become attached. That’s why I don’t generally get involved with comedies.

Alicia Fogg

I love this!! I would definitely come to Cali to meet you!

Heather Hale

Lovely to cyber connect John! ;-)

Hello John, let's connect

Molly N. Moss

Hi John, we're already connected but I didn't realize you're looking for projects. I have a couple of loglines posted on my profile that may be of interest to you: Loveless (a TV pilot) and Evermore (a sci-fi/horror feature). There's a paranormal suspense feature I'm working on now, too. What would you like to hear more about? :-)

Good to see you again, John. Please don't forget to check out my blogs about the Hero's Journey here: http://taoryanmoua.weebly.com/

Galo Semblantes

Hi John. My name is Galo Semblantes. I would like to ask you for some advice about distribution for a documentary I've been working for the past three years. I'm in Burbank for a couple of weeks.

Michael Ramos

Hey John, here is a log line for a film that you could possibly be interested in: "When two burglars rob a Los Angeles suburban home and find a woman's dead body in the bathtub, a series of chaos and coincidences lead a cheating husband to face the challenges of retrieving his money, keeping his family together, and getting through a string of bad luck." Even if you do not consider this film, as an aspiring producer, I would still like to meet you in person and ask you for some advice. I am located in Los Angeles and I would love to build my network in the industry. Thank you for your post. -Michael

John Charnay

Galo: Subject? And What Number Can I Call You On?

John Charnay

Michael: Pass. But Would Like To Meet You Next Month.

Michael Ramos

Thank you John, looking forward to it. Is there a way I can get in contact with you directly?

Tom Stohlgren

Hi John, I'm an out-of-towner (Colorado). I saw that you had inspirational Christmas movies on your "Desert Island" list. I hope I have the next script with the heart to make your future desert list. “Texting Santa” is centered in Burbank. Logline: Extremely withdrawn third-grader comes out of her shell by tex-ting Santa before her school Christmas break, while her widower father falls in love. Synopsis (first paragraph): Exceedingly bright but incredibly withdrawn third-grader, HOLLY BARRY (9), is in for the night of her life. She talks aloud only to her single father (LOGAN BARRY; 36), who roams L.A. in a van selling wildlife urine as repellent for deer and squirrels. It’s a stinky job at Urine Luck, so Logan rents nice cars for his very rare dates. He takes Holly to rundown Nick’s Diner for a quick dinner before his date with vivacious TV-actress MARIANNE DEMONET (36), who has a minor role on “Crime Scene, Burbank,” where her father is the series’ Producer.... [Care to see more? I can take it. I'm tough! I survived a meal at Nick's Diner in L.A.] Special Thanks, Tom

Steven Harris Anzelowitz

I am a screenwriter in NYC. Brooklyn native. Manhattan resident. I have a screenplay posted on my profile page called "Hope Saves Manhattan". It is based on a true news event from 1985 here in Manhattan. As I approach my one year anniversary here on Stage 32 in March nothing would please me more than your help in getting my script into production. I am the 3rd generation of a New York Show Business family of Actors, Musicians, & Composers. I am the first of my family to venture behind the camera or backstage to write. I started writing late at 63 years old in 2014 after a 30 year career writing advertising copy, in non- profit performing arts sales, as well as telemarketing. However what I bring to my stories are a wealth of New York lifetime experiences. I want my films to be one that makes you laugh but also inspires. I have been asked who my writing most resembles: Here goes: I write like Woody Allen. My jokes are like Mel Brooks. My stories are very Neil Simon with some twists from Billy Wilder. These are my four horsemen that I look to for experience, strength and hope. If you have time to look at my profile page I would be most grateful. Thank you.
