Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter with sociological research background by Geoff Bakken

Hi everyone, I'm a screenwriter focused on drama features. Before I started screenwriting, I earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I draw on my research background to develop stories rooted in social issues like racism, political polarization, gender oppression, and economic inequality. I was inspired to start screenwriting after watching The Wire and realizing the power of well-researched drama to share ideas and insights about the society we inhabit. Looking forward to connecting with and learning from the community at Stage 32!
