I'm a screenwriter based in Chicago focused on drama features.
Before I started screenwriting, I earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I draw on my research background to develop stories rooted in social issues like racism, political polarization, gender oppression, and economic inequality.
For instance, my feature "One Nation Under God" is inspired and informed by my dissertation research focused on the rise of the Tea Party movement. It tells the story of Carl Schmitt, a middle-aged white Tea Party activist whose orderly life is upended after his elderly father shoots and kills an African American teenager who recently moved into the neighborhood. "One Nation Under God" was recognized in the Top 5% of Tracking Board's Launch Pad Features Competition in 2015.
Unique traits: I have a Ph.D. in Sociology from the top-ranked program at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I leverage my research background to develop stories addressing pressing social issues.
