In this business, it's not what you know, it's who you know. We all realize that. It's extremely difficult for a 36 year old horror oriented screenwriter with a family and roots in Arkansas to meet the right people. I can't pull up stakes and move to LA to meet the people I need to meet. I'm hoping someone here might help me with that. I really need to find an agent. I have 1 produced script called Manje, and one unproduced script called The Man in the Mirror. Any help getting a meeting or making contact with an agent would be very appreciated. Thank you! Jason Pitts

Jason: Your question comes up frequently in screenwriting forum. You may wish to check out these thread for previous posts/thoughts on your situation. https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting/Getting-A-Manager-in-Los-An... https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting/Getting-paid-to-write-2 https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting/Location-location-location https://www.stage32.com/lounge/anything_goes/Should-I-move-to-LA

Hey Jason, I'm a horror thriller writer as well! Welcome! And good luck with your search. You might also want to head over to Stage 32 Happy Writers. You could try pitching your ideas! https://www.stage32.com/happy-writers
Are these pitches to other writers?

Jason: What JL suggested is a paid service offered by S32 that many of the writers in the forum (including me) have used. Here is the link https://www.stage32.com/happy-writers/pitch-sessions
I'd also recommend checking out some contests in your genre. Film freeway is a good source. And keep writing. It's hard to find an agent with just one script.
Thanks for the info guys! I really appreciate it.

I wrote some articles on where to find producers looking for scripts and where you can post your scripts to get attention - www.anthonycawood.co.uk/articles
AC - nice articles!
Thanks Bill - just hope they are useful for people...

Great articles Anthony! I never really thought to put my loglines on my website (I'm a little paranoid). Jason, I agree with the others when they say to send to competitions and Happy Writers Pitch Sessions. I'm in the same boat as you, not being able to uproot my life right now, but wanting to find a way to reach out to agents/managers. Sometimes I feel like I've poured a lot of money into my projects, but I know at some point the outcome will be worth it. :) Good luck to you, sir!

Thanks Emi! Good luck to you, as well!
Can't help with an agent but all the best with it.
