Hi Steven, nice straight-forward post. For me, it was simply the films I loved and grew up watching and then discovering who wrote the films, THAT was when I was inspired to write. I've written similar in other lounge posts, so won't repeat myself with various stories. Instead, I'll keep it brief. They're not in any particular order, either. It's hard to put just ten, but here's a mixed bunch. 1. Ben Hecht - the list is endless, but there's China Girl, Notorious, Kiss of Death and countless uncredited work. 2. Shane Black - Long Kiss Goodnight, Last Boy Scout, Lethal Weapon, LA PI (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) 3. Sylvester Stallone - yes, that one. 4. Dorothy B. Hughes - The Killers, The Maltese Falcon, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, High Sierra, Key Largo 5. John Woo - The Killer, Bullet in the Head, A Better Tomorrow, Hard Boiled, 5. Steven E. de Souza - the man who certainly made the biggest impact on my career. From Knight Rider on TV to Commando to of course 'Die Hard'. The one who truly inspired me. 6. John Fusco - another great for me. Young Guns 1 & 2, Cross Roads, Crouching Tiger 2, Hildago. A wonderful encouraging, spiritual man, too. 7. Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale - Back to the Future series and a lesser-known, underrated film called 'Trespass'' 8. Joe Carnahan - Narc, Smokin' Aces, The A-Team, The Grey... his Death Wish script is amazing. 9. John Milius - Dirty Harry, Big Wednesday, Apocalypse Now, Conan The Barbarian 10.
