As writers we live in our brains, but it can also be a great source of anxiety and insecurity. It can be hard for some of us to write when we feel bogged down by literally everything else. I thought this was a great article that's helpful for creative people and life in general. http://www.forbes.com/sites/alicegwalton/2014/08/19/7-science-backed-way...

Enjoyed the article! Thanks for posting it. :-)
Best way to "get out of your head" is a client who is calling you -- and that $20,000 check you will collect when you turn in the project. Works for me.

Victor -- I think it's a matter of practice. I used to be very much in my head but then I learned how not to be. Granted I took a class (it's called Meditative Writing -- www.writeyourscreenplay.com). It helped me tremendously, now I am much better at not judging everything I write. Especially not the first draft. I am much more comfortable now with shitty idea that I come up with. I think once we accept that we don't have to be brilliant at the outset then it's much easier to get out of your own head.
