What kind of gifts do you like to send to a casting office as a thank you if you book a job? I know treats like cookies and cupcakes are popular - just wondering if anyone has any other ideas. This came up in the "Booking Your First TV Job" webinar today and I'd love to hear from people's experiences--
Hey Uma! In full disclosure, Uma and I are friends. I'm not an actor, but I'm throwing out examples used in talent agency gifting. If you get to know the person well enough, send something personal. For example, you hear she's going to Hawaii this summer. Send a pineapple corer. If he's a Starbucks lover, then you can send Starbucks ground coffee. Or call the assistant and ask what the person likes. You might get an answer like flavored vodka! And I always tell people to send a group thank-you email to everyone in the office who helped you, with special attention to your point person, who deserves not only an email, but also the aforementioned gift and handwritten note card. Uma, do you think that advice applies to your world?
