Introduce Yourself : Have I mentioned my play? by David Chase

Have I mentioned my play?

Years ago I was in a room full of strangers and it was decided to go around the room so everyone could introduce themselves. I never know what to say at times like that. Later, when we were all scattered around with our pot luck supper, a woman in the small group I was in said, "It's a shame we were never taught to celebrate our gifts." And she was right. It feels and often comes across as bragging. On the other hand, why should we keep it all to ourselves? My 3 act play "As Fair As You Were", is one of my accomplishments and I'm quite proud of it. It's a good show for community theater groups. It was successfully produced by the Vermont Theatre Company and since published by New Theatre Publications. You can download a free PDF of the script here: http://www.plays4theatre.com/bookdetails.php?pr=800 Single set with interior and exterior. Five men, four women, ages from mid-30s to 70 or 80. Check it out. Costs nothing to download it and a couple hours to read it. Then let me know what you think.

David...Plays! You should spend some time in the Authoring and Playwriting Lounge. Let's get some convos going there!

Welcome David! From a fellow theater-person, it's good to see you celebrating your gifts! Downloaded your script and added it to my reading pile.

Thanks for the comments. I was living in England during the time the play was produced and so aside from a couple Skype calls and an email or two, it was all done without me to stick my oar in. I saw the dress rehearsal and it was quite good but I was still on London time so I don't remember much of it. Opening night, though, was a packed house and with the audience providing feedback for the cast to play off, it blossomed. I could see the change in the cast performances as that magic that can only happen in live theater came alive. The entire room was part of the evening and it was like that for all six performances. Very nice. True, it's set in New England, but any crowd that can appreciate On Golden Pond will like AFAYW.
