I'm a native of Brattleboro, Vermont. Over the years I've performed in community theater, worked as a carpenter, a truck driver, and a wine sales person, among other things. I served for ten years on the Brattleboro Planning Commission, was a founding member of BCTV, Channel 8 in Brattleboro, and I wrote a weekly column for the Brattleboro Reformer and the Keene Sunday Sentinel for several years. In 1987 I published a collection of pieces from the column in A PEASANT OF WEST BRATTLEBORO. i won a one month residency at The Millay Colony for the Arts in 1989. My three act play, AS FAIR AS YOU WERE, was produced by Vermont Theatre Company in 2009. In addition to my life in Brattleboro I've lived in Sonoma County, California, and Hannington, Northamptonshire, England. My novel, GRANTS FERRY was published in 2012. I now live in Keene, New Hampshire, with my wife, Susan Shaw.
