Means of Finding Cast And Crew

I recently moved back to the Midwest and have had a hard time finding crew and actors. Breakdown Services is effective at finding a cast, but has a convoluted internal messaging system. Aside from it, Craigslist and Stage 32, what websites do you use to find cast and crew?

Try posting the local colleges. Advertise for film students.

Tony Cella

Do you recommend physical postings at the schools or emailing the professors?

Facebook is my first go to... I'm working within my network that way

Most colleges have a Job center. Call and stop by. Face to face is always best to introduce yourself to students & professors.

Local filmmaking groups on FaceBook work well in Denver

In the meantime, if you need an actor. You have one right here that would love to :o).

Mandy can be a good source. Don't know exactly how it works, though.

Also a heap of talent on Slated.com. Personally, I'm prejudiced toward industry-specific websites and media. Pictures are great; view a reel, too, before reaching out.

Thanks for the suggestions. Most of my gigs are non-paying at the moment, which is part of the issue in finding crew, but that may change soon. Finding talent for free isn't an issue, but the messaging system for Breakdown Services/Actor's Access is difficult to use. I'll try Mandy for crew and check out the other websites listed.

Hey Tony! I live about 5 hours from Chicago, but I'm willing to travel for the right opportunities. Currently looking for AD or producer positions. I also know a ton of actors who travel that way all the time, so let me know if you're looking for new faces!

Tony Cella

Thanks for dropping a line Samantha. I sent you a message.
