Hello Stage 32, I'm a longtime lurker, first-time poster. I'm a writer/director who was away from the industry for a few years due to an illness in the family that required my undivided attention. But things started to settle down a couple years ago and I've made slow strides getting back into the groove ever since. I had a screenplay finish in the Top 5 of Final Draft's Big Break Contest in the Drama Category in 2016. I had another screenplay reach the quarterfinals of the Academy Nicholl Fellowships last year, which helped it trend on The Blacklist, allowed it to be featured in Inktip's Industry Newsletter and, ultimately, lead to a very healthy option agreement. I am now moving on to the next steps in my "comeback," which includes broadening my network and friendships.
