I am an author of Young Adult Fantasy and Romance books living in The Netherlands. My Urban Fantasy YA debute The Guardians of the Gates, an ‘Elisabeth Bennet in Mortal Instruments’-story, is traditionally published in The Netherlands. Short stories have been published in different bundles, including a diversity bundel in 2018. In 2021 my romcom book 'Introweek (Froshweek)' has been published under my own name Anja Janssen by a major Dutch Publisher of Coleen Hoover, Jennifer L. Armentrout and Sophie Kinsela. This is a romantic comedy of a student falling in love with a frosh week leader. Tropes as fake dating, enemy to lovers are covered in this succesful story.

In 2019 I won a Watty Award for my fantasy fairy-tale retelling Song of the Swans, a mix of Stranger Things, Cinderella and a Knights Tale. In 2020 I started a project with ten other writers and initiated, contributed and managed to have a bundle of romance stories reviewed, edited and published within a month. All earnings will go WWF who sell it on their website, all earnings will be donated for wildlife restoration in Australia. I am a member of the APEX writing group lead by David Farland, the man who discovered Harry Potter and tutor of Brandon Sanderson (Wheel of time) and Stephanie Meyers (Twilight)

My books and stories contain action, romance and adventure and are targetted for a large audience (men, women, girls and boys) as the cast has also a wide range of ages, nationalities and gender. I have designed my own book covers in cooperation with a professional graphic designer, made my own book trailers and set-up my own marketing campaign.
Currently I am finishing up an historical romance with historical accurate characters and events set in Ireland in the q8th century.

I am a professional in story development and developmental editing. I am proficient in pitching. I have had several successful pitches, resulting in a full request from a Hollywood producer (story concept), full manuscript request by two of the big five US publishers and a smaller US publisher after a PitMad pitch and full manuscript request by several Dutch publishers after a live pitch.
