Hi everyone, my name is Amy Masuret. I’m a jack of all trade when it comes down to the visual art department. I am currently working on my first animated short which I plan on sending to film festivals, hopefully by the end of next year. As well as opening my own production house.
If you have any questions please ask away.
Thank you!!

Howdy, Amy! I've always been curious about the storyboarding process, but I can't draw worth a hoot. Do you have any tips for those looking to collaborate with a storyboard artist (pros/cons when working with directors)?

Hi Eric La Fuente So tips for looking for a Storyboard artist. So first off figure out if you need a beat board, a storyboard, or both. The quality of imagery can be very drastic. A beat beat board tells the story, something similar to Illustrating a picture book, while a storyboard it to convey movement of characters, cameras, and scene cuts. Also beat boards will look much prettier than a storyboard. So when looking for a storyboard artist, as much as quality of drawing is a factor the ability to consistently draw the same character in the same style is important.
Thank you Aray Brown!
Hi Derek Reid! The animation will be computer.
Nice to meet you Amy

Thank you so much, Amy -- that's a huge help! I didn't even know about beat boards!

Yeah they are usually used for promo work, but they can be a huge help in dealing with the sound department at the beginning. Since they don’t need all the other info a storyboard provides, it’s a great start with figuring out the feeling of the background music.
I cn bring up your industry through great scripts, check you Link account

Thank you for the insight Amy, I draw out scenes just to figure them out in my head, I honestly didn't know they had a practical application.

Hi Michael Rogers. I’m happy i can help, but yes they have an practical application. However, I do know that this and a few other steps are ignored because it can be seen as redundant and unnecessary to cut back on cost.
