I run a writers group that meets Thursday nights (at 7 pm) near the Fairfax District of Los Angeles and we are looking for a few writers to join our group. If you're interested please send me a message and I'll send you a brief summary of our group and few rules we follow. The big one is we don't talk over each other or argue our position during the feedback round. (This is hard for some people which is why I'm giving you advance warning).
Keep comments and questions supportive and civil. No one here is an authority on how screenplays should be written or formatted. (You can offer advice, but we had one guy shouting down the table every time he saw something HE thought should be capitalized that wasn't.) We like to focus on story, plot, character and emotional or visual connections we've made to the writer's screenplay. We are not here to nitpick about about formatting flaws or whether or not you use one space or two after a period. (Though feel free to leave those notes on the pages.)
You are not expected to substitute someone else's judgment for your own - just to listen with an open mind. Creative people have creative differences but personal attacks or name calling are NOT tolerated. Please behave in a respectful and professional manner.
There is NO CHARGE to belong or attend this group, nor do we ask for donations. This is non-profit in every sense of the word. We are just writers helping other writers.
