Hey everyone! Just saying hi! My name is Ryan, and I’m an actor, director, coach, voice over thingy, screenwriter and playwright...whew! And yes sometimes it does feel like I’m chasing to many bunnies. I’m currently writing a feature sci-fi fantasy comedy which is all I can say about it in it infancy. I love these folks at Stage 32! I’m not kissing butt either but they have been extremely generous, friendly, and helpful...it’s really nice to be on here and meet so many creative people. It’s been inspiring to read some people’s journeys. This is my second attempt here at the “Introduce Yourself Lounge”. Best wishes on everyone’s projects, break a leg to all the Actors, mardé to all the dancers, and stay focused to all the cinematographers!
My first completed screenplay is a sci-fi comedy called "The Wreck of the Morgaphorbia." I'm glad I'm not alone in the mixed genre. Wish you well with yours. I'll try to carry on without any fractures. I'm retired, and balance is a bit more of a challenge than it used to be. Luckily, hammering away at the computer is a lot safer than swinging a hammer. I'm out of San Diego. Where do you live?
Sounds like fun stuff.
Hey Tim, I’m in Vancouver(the one in Canada). It’s funny you brought up the hammering, as that’s what I’ve been doing to make a little income while I’m trying to start a full time gig in film.
Hi Ambrose, it’s a lot of fun but writing from home involves a lot of procrastination. Good thing I haven’t updated my game console in ten years
Was up in Bothell, Ryan, outside of Seattle remodeling my brother's house. Never got to Vancouver. If it's as lovely as Seattle, I envy you--although, after living in the high mountains of Colorado for way too long, I no longer have any tolerance for cold weather, and am completely spoiled on the mild climate here in southern cal. Building when it was thirty below is not my idea of fun. Now, writing while basking on the beach, drinking margaritas and smokin' a dube, much more to my liking
Tim that’s awesome! We rarely get snow...we have it now mind you, but we’re a lot better looking than Seattle as we are not as industrial and have more mountains, hiking, climbing, etc. I do love me some Seattle though. But dubes and wine are pretty much the vibes of Vancouver...there’s many beach’s here as well but cold and grey right now. March and April there’s cherry blossoms everywhere and it gets warmer.
Sounds as gorgeous as I picture it, but all my body hear's is, snow. I get shivers thinking about it. I lived for about ten years in the two mile high mining town of Cripple Creek, Colorado, on the Western slope of Pike's Peak. The view at sunset, looking West, from above the clouds, with the Collegiate summits, and San Rey de Cristos poking through, is a view permanently etched in my mind like no other. And yet every time I think about it, I shiver. Maybe that accounts for why I tend to write stories based in warmer climates. And just tossing this out into your ether. What if aliens landed and they all talked like Leslie Nielsen. They're dead pan serious, but we can't keep laughing at them. Would they consider it an insult?
Guys let's all get together at a meeting and get the best of what we have going. We will all listen to the stories we have now written and decide what one we want to do now. If we are all doing one project who needs money to produce a promo of it. Just all get-together and all decide what project we want that we have or one that we can all have input in and get it going on. And let's get it going on now no waiting till doomsday to come!
