Hello, people. I just started distributing my experimental short film "The slot" at film festivals through Festhome and Filmfreeway. I am making a strong investment because we want the best for our work but I would like to know your opinion on whether it is worth spending so much money on festival fees without knowing the real possibilities we have. It's an experimental, auteur film. We love it, but we don't know how the festival selectors will perceive it. We'll leave you the trailer if you want to give us your opinion. Hi and welcome Isabel. Your film sounds cool. Obviously research festivals as much as possible before paying entry. Not all festivals charge. Leeds festival does Art House type categories and experimental film.

Hi I forgot to add there are smaller known festivals that don’t get much mainstream advertising, yet still attract quite big audiences. If you are ever thinking of making a stage version of your film there is even more choice. I went to a festival called “Transform” recently in Yorkshire and they were doing all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff. They even did a rocky horror type live show in a disused Victorian Mill. Any surreal visual effects from original film footage are beamed onto stage backdrop, but acting live.

Isabel - Interesting choice of images for your trailer. If your short film is under 15 minutes I would like to view it for possible inclusion in our SILK Screen Festival - a one-night film event that features unique, personal short films.

@Isabel thanks for connecting. I've only just seen your trailer cos before I was using mobile app and it does not show links. COOL! I love the grey/black and white/sepia tones.
