Hi Stage 32 Friends!
I am interested in pitching an original idea for a reality TV show and have written a treatment and registered it with the Writers Guild of America West and have a filed document number. Can anyone assist me with learning how to pitch for this specific genre and what is required besides the treatment? The concept of the show is based on combat sports entertainment lifestyle and all of the people involved in making a show happen. Please email me at info@ashantialtovese.com if you are interested in mentoring me in this project. Thank you!

One can use several actual issues, when the elections come next year, will not be so hard, the gender problem, immigration, child abuse, me too, too much overweight, flying to Mars, climate change. You name it and it is there.

I'm in the middle of doing this right now with a reality TV show. Lots of things to consider. Will it be scripted or non scripted? will it be an arc format or standalone? Docu or not? then there is the script, from what i have seen a treatment is not quite enough. They want to see what they call a "bible" which is the entire series and how it all flows together. Then they want you to have a large social media following and perhaps shoot a Sizzle reel. If you really want a good feeling for this stuff listen to the Joke and Biagio podcast. They are producers in that field that have worked on most networks at one point or another. You can learn all about it.
Thank you for your advice

Hi John! Thank you for your response. The show will be non-scripted. It is meant to be a standalone concept as well with a non docu feel. I could write a bible for the show and shooting a reel would be about a 5 min one. I will check out the Joke and Biagio podcast as suggested. Thank you again!
