Hi everyone! I’ve just purchased a conference badge to attend this year’s AFF. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how best to spend my time there? My goal is to sell any of my scripts, and of course make connections with people in the industry. I went to the AFM last year and it was fantastic and I hope to have as much fun in Austin. If anyone is going and would like to catch up over a coffee and talk all things film, let me know.

Roadmap Writers hosted a free webinar with a writer who placed in the contest and has gone the past few years. He gives insight into the experience of going there. Check their website and see if it's available in their vault still.

Mmmm, Texas BBQ and Tex-Mex. Nomnomnom. The best!
I recommend you don't go to Austin with the intention of "selling any of my scripts." Go there to make connections with other writers, producers, directors, etc. If people like you, they will want to work with you. By all means, have your loglines ready if anyone asks about your scripts, but don't go there script-in-hand, hoping to make a sale.
Google the topic "why should I go to the Austin Film Festival." You'll see lots of helpful first-hand advice — best of luck.
