Has anyone tried it? Any success?
I'm grateful for Stage 32 and the other sites recommended here by others, but what about this one? I would say that I'd like to see more pitch opportunities via Stage 32.
I think I need lots of "shots on goal" and with Virtual Pitch Fest that is possible

I've found three shopping agreements with producers via VPF. But to make it all worthwhile from a $ perspective, you have to do your homework on the players you're pitching and find good potential matches with your scripts.

I’ve had decent luck with VPF insofar as getting read requests, meetings and just generally making connections. No options off there as of yet. I have also had luck with InkTip and SYS, which netted me an option and two assigned gigs.

I've noticed it's the same Solicitors & Companies doing pay to pitch sites. VPF, Roadmap, Stage 32, Inktip. If you got the $ and want to skip the BS, then pay $10 for a read request submission. And yes, it's all "shots on goal." A wga writer I know pitched over 100++ meetings face to face in 2017. $$$ spent on gas & parking, creating look books, TIME. He had 0 booked jobs but said it was his most productive year of his career.

I assume it's just my old guy personal pov. Maybe some of you younger 'uns can explain it to me. It took a long time (over many years) to build connections in the industry and I've never had to pay someone to let me pitch to 'em. I've had a few Agents ask if they could read my stuff (which I freely allowed). A couple sold some of my work and they got their cut. But it's never cost me a penny out-of-pocket.
I've concluded that there's a whole sub-industry that sprung up for the single purpose of mining the groundswell of screenwriter wannabes with all the pay-to-play on line courses, seminars, festivals, retreats and whatever. Yes the times have certainly changed. Can anyone explain the need for all these services in simple terms; please?.
What is sys.
If you have some disposable income, it’s a good service to give you the feeling you’re doing something. I’ve gotten some read requests from it in the past. Definitely research the list and only send queries to relevant producers (or managers).
True Kay - that's why I NEVER put out a call for scripts. I have put out calls for short films for my cable network show but the stuff I got was SO bad as to be unusable. Yet I have seen a few very fine short productions. I think the industry is swamped with talkers, dreamers & wishers - very few doers..
