this was very helpful. we must apologize...we told our Queen this was a waste of time and was going to go shopping for Plants supplies...very glad we was wrong and will never doubt Stage tre duece again.
Thanks for the great webinar! These are the kinds of things that I find really helpful, especially with everything to do with COVID happening currently. I'm new to this platform, and I'm still figuring it out, but I'm looking forward to continuing to network and learn, and this seems like a great place to do it.
Howdy Amanda. Do you still have the wings or someone removed them. I still have the proof that you had them that day. If you ever decide to start your own Podcast, let me know where to subscribe. Great AMA as always.
RB, I do Production Consulting & the hardest thing is to challenge Productions to find/create their audience as early on as possible. I so a lot with Demographic Specific Social Media Marketing, but just ordered your book on Crowd Sourcing! Can't wait to dig in! Peace!
Hey everyone, thanks firstly to RB for another fab AMA and to Amanda for moderating. 10 pages of notes later......so lots of take-homes for me. The importance of focusing on writing as my career and being responsible for that is a wake up call because I have previously allowed negativity and negative comments to impact on me and my work and, consequently, there was lack of confidence to propel myself forward in this way so it remained a sideline interest. Stage 32 gave me the confidence to take back control but it is slow and steady. Also, a very important reminder about building connections and immersing yourself into opportunities where you can network and to also learn more about others as well as the craft. Evaluating your own goals and using the tools available to assist. Lots of great advice within this AMA, so thank you. Oh, and I would be up for the 'happy hour' AMA bearing in mind it is currently evening in the UK so it may be an 'early hours of the morning mocktail' for me ;)
If you have a website, post it so we can all read/listen/watch some of your work. Just make sure it comes with a warning for those of us who are prudes...like myself. www.harrietdickey.com and https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS7IyfF4JsJ5ep6SwT04iww
I have to go cook dinner now. (I hate cooking, btw.)
I provided this as feedback - I have been involved in zoom meetings for the 168 film festival which have speakers and then we network. This is a great idea since if it were live, those of us outside of LA (I'm from Houston) could not participate. Why doesn't s32 host zoom meetings with a short speaker on a specific topic followed by networking.
RB and team, can you provide a link to questions and topics for today and the last AMA. I need to have them translated? Thank you in advance. I would love your and the team's feedback on my projects page prior to me starting my pitching. I will be including all this in my case study for my PHD TRPP Project. Thank you in advance. Thank you for this q/a transcript.
I feel so rejuvenated after each Richard "RB" Botto AMA talk as well as the incredible Education webinars that Amanda Toney creates for the S32 community.
A key takeaway for me is the 50/50 approach: 50 percent on craft and 50 percent on networking, trade reading, etc. Admittedly, I need to get a bit better on the latter 50 percent.
My big take away is that Stage 32 belongs to all of us. It is up to each of us to take advantage of the opportunities that are available. We control our creative careers. And also we have to be honest with our selves. Are we pitching enough.?Are we setting aside writing time, composing time, etc.? Are we being proactive or reactive? Are we actually networking with the folks we add to our network? I would also add are we giving back? For example are we willing to read someone's work if asked? Do we offer sound advice if we can?
Martin Reese Well said! The items you highlighted seem to reflect principles of success about life as well. Thank you for articulating them so eloquently.
Stage 32 combines all of the tools that will allow us to reach our goals. Our part is to do the work to make it happen. (network, pitch, write, produce, etc.).
Grateful to all who attended and for all the kind words, my friends. Yesterday was one of my favorite sessions yet. You all brought fantastic questions and energy for days. For those who didn't have the opportunity to have their questions answered (we had over 5,000 attendees across all the simulcast channels), I hope you'll be inspired to ask them in the appropriate Lounge and get more involved in the community. For those who missed the AMA, it's now available On Demand here:
Thank you for the update and details RB. I plan on binging it along with the last one. One suggestion is to offer subtitles or dub in other languages. One of the members made the recommendation. It will increase your community.

I throw it out to you, RB -- what would you ask anyone in the industry if you had the chance?

Re-listening to it again since I was doing a lot of typing on the FB Live end - SUCH good information! When's the next one?!
