Introduce Yourself : Saying hello again by Chris Lynch

Saying hello again

Hope you are enjoying this unusual July weekend. Normally I would be outside and maybe at the beach. Like most of you, I am spending more days at the house. That has given me more time to think about writing. I joined the Writers Room in January and have found it the best resource so far from Stage 32. It's like attending a Master Class each week. I highly recommend the Writers Room if you want to improve your craft.

The Writers Room comes along at the perfect time for me. I am still pursuing the Black Passport concept (more in my profile) that follows a US Diplomat through various countries. I started off writing this as a TV series, having done the pilot, etc. After making a number of pitches,I realized that I would best be served turning it into a novel. That way I can show the many layers of the characters and plot that are difficult to get to in a short pitch. And I have control over the novel. I'm now in the rewrite stage of the novel and the lessons from the Writers Room (characters, plot and timing) apply as well to the novel. The books is markedly better for the tips and ideas.

I enjoy reading all of your posts and welcome any discussions. Cheers!
