I'm a comic, screenwriter, and author in the Chicago area.
Currently marketing a comedy feature, writing a pilot for a TV series, prepping for an upcoming comedy showcase on zoom, and reading entries to a screenwriting contest.
Just officially launched a comedy-focused production company.
Hope you're all healthy and having a nice weekend.

Hey, Laura Crisp Davis! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. Nice to meet you! Congrats on your production company! Oh, did you see the TV writing Lab we've got coming up? It's for comedy, so right up your alley! https://www.stage32.com/classes/Stage-32-Screenwriting-Lab-Write-a-Comedy-TV-Pilot-in-6-Weeks-From-Concept-to-Completed-Script
I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but definitely reach out on the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting) for insight into characters, dialogue, and even when you want to generate interest in a virtual table read! Maybe you could start a post about your experience with voice acting?
Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time.

Say, Laura, I know that this is a difficult question to ask you, but I'll ask anyway. Since that you're from the same city as I am, I was wondering if you know something? How are you holding up, during this trying time? Me, I'm adjusting to this so great. Anyway, congratulations on your upcoming project, I hope it gets the green light. Anyway, back to my question, I'm looking for a local publicist who can interview me about my three topics that are based on soap operas and music, and I wonder if you know someone? If so, great. If not, then, that's OK, I'll look to someone else. Anyway, take care and stay safe.
