Notes for Newbies?

Hi, Everyone--

I hope everyone is doing well! My writing partner, Thomas, and I are new to television writing, and we're looking for any and all writing tips we could soak up from industry pros, particularly in terms of getting staffed. Anything you'd like to share is much appreciated. Thanks so much! :)

Hi, Charlie! I would suggest emailing Jason Mirch (j.mirch@stage32.com). He’s the Director of Script Services here at Stage 32. He’s super responsive and helpful and can guide you on your next steps in your career! Happy writing!

Karen "Kay" Ross

Hey Charlie, this is Karen from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Acting to Screenwriting, as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!

Martha Caprarotta

Welcome, Charlie Gill ! Stage 32 has many webinars and classes on those topics. Did you know you can get a free month's membership in the Writer's Room by emailing Jason Mirch, Director of Script Services for Stage 32, at j.mirch@stage32.com? Then you can attend Jason's free weekly screenwriting webinars and go into the "vault" of his past free webinars, Members also get discounts on other webinars and script services.

Dan Guardino - no one needs to, but they are free to.

Hi Charlie Gill, the Stage 32 webinars can be really helpful. You just need to be ready for the long haul when you get into the pitching stages.

Phil Clarke

Hi Charlie. I strive to make myself available to chat to anyone who wishes to learn and develop their screencraft. By all means feel free to message me anytime.

Dan MaxXx

that's financially rough, a TV writing duo. Employers don't pay double salary for co-writers. Might be harder to staff two for one salary position. But it's been done by rookie-writing duos.

Some Industry folks are raving about CLUBHOUSE. It's still beta-testing and only works on iPhones. There are lots of show biz topics like tv writing.

Thanks, everyone, for the helpful advice--it is much appreciated!

Jason Mirch

Hey Charlie Gill - great to have you here! I am the Director of Script Services for Stage 32. Feel free to email me at j.mirch@stage32.com - I would be happy to give you some thoughts on how to move your scripts and cheer forward. Hi Charlie! Thank you for the connection! My little corner of the industry is art/design for pitch decks, one-pagers, social media, and occasionally set deck. Very nice to e-meet you!
