So, I'd love to meet my other team members and find-out more about what everyone is working on in terms of screenwriting, etc.
I'm in a few different labs and writer's groups developing a drama pilot (3rd rewrite), a family feature and I'm also working on another family feature through consultations with a tv writer from Save The Cat. I'm in Atlanta and work in medicine, but write everyday- yes, EVERYDAY.
I'm excited about this class and the mock writer's room especially!

Hi everyone! I'm Shakthi, and I'm new to Stage 32. I'm currently in UCLA's Professional Program in Television Writing working on my first original pilot. I'm a journalist based in NYC. Look forward to working together!
Thank you, Sara! I'm so happy we're in the same group! Shakthi, when I heard you ask your question, I immediately hoped we'd be in the same group! I'm so stoked.
Oh, also, I just joined Clubhouse - @chaunlee
Hi, I'm Ken and based in Austin, TX and sometimes New Mexico. My day job is working as a Location Manager and/or Scout on major motion pictures and TV series. Some shows I've been on are Friday Night Lights, Fear The Walking Dead, and I currently work on Walker, which shoots in the Austin area. In between those projects, I work as a writer, producer, director, or some combination of those positions. I've optioned a couple screenplays and had one made, although it was on a pretty tight budget. I've been developing a one hour crime drama; hopefully in the same vein as Ozark, Breaking Bad, and the Sopranos. I haven't used Clubhouse -- Googling it now. I'm game for using Clubhouse, Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc. to work on a pitch. Nice to meet everyone!
Sure, my email is ken@shootfirstpictures.com. If we end up using Clubhouse it looks like I need to be invited via my phone number, which is 512-423-8772
my email is: cml808@gmail.com
I work full time so the only day I'm available before 2:30pmPST is Friday of each week. I take my lunch at 10amPST so that's a possibility during the week M-Th
Hi Ken! Nice to have you on our team! I sent you an invite to clubhouse.

Hello Everyone. I'll do my best with the group here but I am an assoc producer as well and head of worldwide delivery for an independent production company. I am currently traveling this week to the Caribbean for our next shoot. I just returned from Hawaii, and left Oregon today in a snowstorm to get to another airport and have a flight to LA where I need to complete a CoVid test and wait overnight before onward travel to St. Kitts. I am not sure what the internet will be like there. I have a 14 day quarantine, so we'll see how this goes. I signed up for the class before my producer said they need me down there, so I'll be taking delivery on two films and a series we've wrapped, working the new production, and trying to rewrite the pilot I'm working on that I am taking this course for assistance on. Whooo, I'm exhausted just writing this! Nice to meet everyone. My number is (818) 679-6333 and email is lgrivertree@gmail.com. I'll do my best but if for some reason I'm not responding, it will be due to logistics or schedule. Good luck everyone. Looking forward to next week.

Also, I've never used clubhouse either. I've been on Zoom mostly during this CoVid situation. I see some varying times/dates here but it looks like everyone is thinking Tuesday? I will be in LA running around for this trip so may not be able to make it then, but definitely want to connect with the group regarding the work/pitch. By the way, the email said to work on our pitch, but I was a little confused about this. I thought it was something we were going to be discussing more in next week's class, but if there is an actual pitch we're supposed to be doing, can someone clarify? I know she mentioned the Flintstones moving to Beverly Hills serial killer thing, but is this the topic? Maybe I missed an email, but are we just introducing ourselves or working on a pitch this week?
Welcome, Lisa! Well let's try and nail down a workable time for everyone. First, has everyone watched the Lost pilot yet? And if so, I guess we should also watch the Sopranos pilot as well and nail down the beats for each. I will try to make Tuesday work if it's the best time for everyone. But, if anyone is able to make it earlier since I'm on the east coast, I'd appreciate it. If you haven't already, please post your email in this chat and I will send a group email so we can share notes or beat sheets, etc... I'm super excited with our group!

Hello Everyone. I registered late for the workshop so I was not able to view it live. I did, however, have the opportunity to watch the recording and am very excited to participate. I would love to meet all of you and will join you this week if I can. My email address is mdoyle2714@gmail.com. Please let me know when you plan to meet and I will make the effort. Due to my work schedule, it might be a little rough for me to meet during the day, but I will try. For future reference, I can definitely be available any evening after 7:00 PM EST, but I will try to make other times work if need be. Hope to see you soon!
Hi Michael, welcome! Well, it appears that half of the group can meet Tuesday and the other half can't. How about we set up two meetings? One for Tuesday at 12pmPST and one for Thursday at 4:30pmPST? Does that work? We can look at keeping them around an hour because I'm sure everyone is busy. If someone can't make one, this will give them the chance to make the other. I think we should all bring some notes (or beats) on the pilots given for homework and some ideas for tv series to pitch on Saturday. If anyone else has suggestions, feel free to drop them in here.
Michael, I will add you to our email thread as well. I plan to paste some of this stuff in the email too.
Here's the Zoom link for tomorrow. We're planning to meet tomorrow and Thursday at 4:30pm PST. This should be fun!

Thank you for setting this up Chaun! I will be at both meetings! I was going to post a short introduction but, since the group will be meeting tomorrow, I will wait until we see each other. Thanks again! See you tomorrow!
hello fellow lounge lizards
apologies for being late to the party
i am currently in europe which will make it tough for me to make the late afternoon classes as its 9 hours later here
no worries on that but if there is a chance that there are any earlier sessions i'd be down for those
very stoked to be part of the group
i have written and pitched a few features and am currently working on a series

Hello all, sorry I've been a bit late to this party, the invite was sitting in my junk mail, me and technology all over! I am based in the UK and so will struggle with the later times, look forward to getting to know you all though :D
Hi Allan! Please send me an email if you don't mind, or paste your email in the thread and I will send you the recording from our first Zoom meeting. I'll also send it to Raushanah. But, for you and Sam, here's the link to the tv series ideas we will be discussing on our Zoom today. If you could tell us which two are your favorites, it would be super helpful.
Thank you!

Looks like you guys are well on your way with pitches/ideas. Most of the groups are planning on doing one main pitch for the group, but are coming planned with other pitches in their pocket if they get called on. You're in the right direction using known characters that everyone will know (The Howells). Some groups are using cartoon characters, some are using well known characters from well known shows. Hope this helps you guys zone in on your idea for your main pitch and backup pitches if called on. Have fun tomorrow!
