Introduce Yourself : Welcome All by Sille Larsen

Sille Larsen

Welcome All

A BIG welcome to all the new film fellows who decided to join stage32.com!

A little guide on how to get started and how to connect or how to manage to navigate around. I think we can all agree that it can be challenging to navigate around on a new platform. And because of that, I have decided to share my knowledge! But first a short introduction of who I am.

My Name is Sille as you can see, my passion is screenwriting and that is also what I want to become (hopefully) sooner than ever. Anyways, I live in Denmark currently working in the famous "Tivoli" in Copenhagen, I have been on stage32.com since January this year, and last month I became a blogger for stage32.com (I will link my blogpost down below) My biggest failure was (it's actually embarrassing ) back in December 2020 I began to write on my first feature-length screenplay on English, and I googled around to see "how to write a screenplay" and after I found some useful tools I began to write. BUT the fail was, I WROTE IT IN GOOGLE DOCS!!! like WHAAAAAT so unprofessional I used these " " every time there was some dialogue I pushed on the enter button twice before I began a new action line or dialog! So when I got my new computer back in January and I downloaded final draft, I copypasted all those 100 pages into final draft and it all looked so different! Like I'm not even sure I dare to show it to you guys! So yeah it has probably been my biggest failure so far! Anyways!

Here are something that can help you a lot to start exploring stage32.com

1. Take a look at your "profile" tell something about yourself, so if people see your profile they can go in and read who is this pretty lady or guy! - A good start is always having a profile picture where people can actually see YOU! when you have those two things you are good to go!

2. Look around in the lounges, so many people are posting every day, try to "mingle" by adding a comment, and make people see YOUR PROFILE! - Then suddenly you will have a hand full with network requests!

3. If you need a "push" to start go and sign up for "the writers' room" or attend different webinars!

4. If you ask me the best way to start or get new information is to take a look at stage32.com´s BLOG, other fellows spend time to create a blog post that can help you in anyways, and no i´m not saying you have to read all the blog post I haven´t done that my self (sorry) just look around and see if there is a blog post that can help you in the right direction!

5. When you have done all of these things you are probably exhausted! So go to the hitten cabinet and eat some sugar! (I mean candy lol)

6. Continue to explore and push on all the options you can! Because

When you attend Stage32.com you are like a baby, and you keep growing and learning, and one day my friend, you will be attending the OSCARS! I believe in you!!

Stay safe and healthy

And good luck!

Feel free to connect with me!

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Sille Larsen. I had a similar fail after I started writing scripts. I think I wrote them in Microsoft Word. I sent one to someone in the industry, and they pointed out that it needed to be in pdf.

It's kind of you to share this post, helping out new members. Some of the post was funny; like the part about the cabinet and eating sugar. :)

Sille Larsen

Maurice Vaughan Hi Maurice! Oh god, I'm so happy to hear I'm not the only one who wrote my script in something else than a script program! - And thank you for your kind words!

Nicole Gregory Crocker

I love so much about this post. Appreciate it!!!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Sille Larsen. What are you currently working on?

Bridgit Li

I wouldn´t call it failure Sille Larsen but learning the proper way to write. I remember there was a time (and not that long ago), when i asked myself how to write a Screenplay in the format professional Screenplays are written. Until I discovered, that there is something like a screenwriting software. Yes, that really happened.

Maurice Vaughan I don´t work on anything new, I have too many unfinished scripts I have to finish, but the time isn't there at the moment so.

Maurice Vaughan

I understand, Sille Larsen. I've had that problem.

Richard "RB" Botto

Holy hell, Sille! What a post! What value. THIS is how it's done. Give to live. Appreciate you greatly.

Sille Larsen you are AMAZING! Thank you so much for sharing this helpful guide! Having a completed profile (photo, bio, links) is really important! I like to add personal & fun details to my bio (I still get emails from people about sweet potato fries since I mention them in my bio and I love it!)

Would love to see everyone in the other lounges! We have one for all aspects of entertainment from acting and animation to cinematography and financing - https://www.stage32.com/lounge
