Introduce Yourself : 3D Animator & VFX Compositor by Pierre Schiller

Pierre Schiller

3D Animator & VFX Compositor

Hi. I'm Pierre Schiller. I've been working for the past 20+ years doing commercial advertising, 3d animation, VFX compositing, games, and most recently: AR+VR for streamers using motion capture tools.

Check out my bio gallery which contains reels breakdowns and more. If there's anything you'd like to see more of, let me know in the comments. I look forward to networking here after a long hiatus. I really like it here on #Stage32.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Pierre Schiller. Impressive reel. I liked the bird animation the best.

Karen "Kay" Ross

Wow, Pierre Schiller, great to meet you, and welcome to the community! Or, welcome back? LOL DUDE, that is an awesome reel! Oh, if you haven't yet, you should definitely check out the Animation Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/animation) and the Post-Production Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/post_production) - I think you'll dig meeting like-minded creatives there!

Actually, since you're doing VR right now, definitely check out the conversations happening in the Transmedia Lounge, too: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/transmedia Lots of good stuff, and a few about VR I'd love to get your input on!

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my blog post on how to get the most out of the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect!

Pierre Schiller

Fantastic, Karen. Thank you for the warm welcome back. Indeed, I visited all of the lounges you mentioned. I will engage with the topics there as well. I will DM you some questions if I get lost. :D

@Maurice, thank you, sir! That bird alone took around 3 months to create specialized controls for the beak, breathing, wings, feathers (head, tail, limbs...) and around 1 month to produce the final 1-minute animation.

Karen "Kay" Ross

You are most welcome, Pierre Schiller! Wow - that is incredible! How big was is your team that it took 1 month to produce the final 1-minute animation?
