Anyone written a true story or a drama loosely based on themselves?
I almost wrote up a character that was basically me but I thought against it, not because I was afraid people wouldn't like it but....how do you fully portray yourself in your own story? Tis quite difficult.

I think maybe the best thing for now is scratch what you've already written and the character created so far, sit down and scribble or smash out a very rough draft or bio entirely about you as though it will never been seen by another living soul.
Roll out whatever comes and give yourself the freedom and privacy that means you can be as savage and brutally honest but don't start to let thoughts of what others might think, if you should really include that or maybe add this instead. It's not going to be read by anyone – so go nuts.
What are you really bad, as in dire at doing and describe the worst possible situation or emergency you would be the one person that has to save the day?
What situation would you actually be the one person that others will be so glad to have there when it hits the fan?
Everything from little quirks, traits and people you love, people you don't and what makes up you and your entire personality and character.
Every single strong, memorable character in a novel or movie – even cartoons is based on someone the writer knew or met personally. They work because there's so much depth and genuine layers so the tank never runs dry, you're not worrying or under pressure to come up with new and different ideas to stop them getting stale.
Give yourself just this one bit of full freedom without giving a shiny one whether you read it back and sound insane. Might even be cathartic and helpful to you going back and picking up the character and writing you already started.
My now adult daughter once shared the clip of Uncle Buck's interrogation and wrote “Literally what it's like having a telephone conversation with Mum”
If I wanted to find out about you this is probably the quick fire round approach I would use not just because I'm impatient and have little time for chit-chat but to keep you second guessing and thinking too long about you answers.
Go for it.
