Cutting a Long Logline Short!

It was only a few days ago that I got my Stage32 Double Recommended and a message asking for my Logline, bio and latest screenplay draft for the Stage32 Lookbook. And cue the panic...I had no issue with my bio, or the latest draft of the screenplay...it was that blasted Logline. Writing thousands of words is a piece of piss...writing a handful of smack you through the face with awesomeness words...AAAARGH! I posted on The Writers’ Room page asking for help and got some great tips and advice from the awesome people in the group, so thank you. Anyways...to cut a long Logline short...I think I nailed it. My agent (who is also a producer) wanted to see the script I wrote that got the double recommended. Her reply after reading it: "I LOVED IT!!!!!". Then: "We need a great Logline". So we started knocking ideas around for possible Loglines - she wants, short, direct, impactful. After a lot of "nope", "hate that", "that's sh@t" I came up with one and her reply was "THIS!" "WE GOT IT!" and then a gif of Jeff Goldblum being very happy. Now - she wants to make the short as a "proof of concept" and pitch it to all the major players. WHAT? But first...I've emailed the Logline, bio and script off to the Stage32 team for the Loobook. What a crazy first 11 days of 2022 it has been.

Congrats! What is a Stafe 32 Double Recommend? I’m kinda new here… Thanks!

Love it! Great news! Best of luck!

Hi Julia Morizawa - when you send your script (short/feature/pilot) for coverage with a Stage32 approved industry professional, it comes back with notes/feedback and then how they see you as writer and your project - Pass/Consider/Recommend. I got a recommend for both my project and me as a writer. Once you get a double recommendation your script/logline/bio gets into a Stage32 Lookbook and sent out to over 500 industry professionals. Hope this helps :)
