Screenwriting : Coverage Services by Julia Morizawa

Coverage Services

Who are your faves? Has anyone here had productive, actionable notes from the Stage 32 coverage services? I’m worried since the readers are execs and not script analysts that this is not their main job and they don’t have time to give thorough notes even if their perspective is useful. I’m considering trying TSL via Coverfly for the first time. I’ve had mostly good experiences with all things Coverfly and they’re affordable. And I use a couple private freelancers. Any other recs appreciated.

Yikes. The app is terrible for posting messages. Sorry about that unbearably messy post!

I'm going to try Stage 32's offering here soon, but I've had solid feedback from the folks at Screencraft. They used to offer Cameron Cubbison notes and that was awesome but they no longer offer that service. I'd say pick a service that allows for some quality phone time with the person who read your script. The anonymous route doesn't suit my process as well.

Hi there, Julia and Ty! I'm an Industry Reader myself through our Industry Reader Coverage & would happily talk to you about our coverage at length/how we happen to operate any time that you like :)

And as far as coverage goes with our executives, we have a lot of incredible folks on those rosters. Absolutely email me at WriterHelp@stage32.com ANY time with any specific questions that you might have and/or if you'd like me to make some recommendations!

Thanks, Angela. I have engaged with Karolina B. for a read-n-talk later this month.

I've had notes through S32's Industry Reader (the anon) service twice. First set of notes were among the best I've received. Wasn't as impressed with the second set of notes but that's not because they were bad notes; they just leaned into the genre prejudice that Hollywood suffers from.

I've had notes from ISA once before. They were really good but the turnaround time on them isn't - or it wasn't last I checked. I don't know if they've improved since then.

And I've used WeScreenplay - which ranges from good to obvious low-effort. It's really hit and miss.
