Getting everything together

I just wanted to introduce myself real quick. This is my first official post on Stage 32 and I'm still figuring everything out lol. I'm an author still trying to get myself together with the film industry

I'm excited to talk and meet with other people both in the industry who match me and my story I would like to make books into movies even though I'm still young. I look forward to seeing other people's creations as well as sharing some of my own

Welcome to the Stage 32 community, Ellison. There are great connections to be made in the Screenwriting and Read A Good Book Lately lounges and fabulous resources in the Script Services universe. Please let me know if I can be of any help as you navigate the community.

Ellison....you have no money ??? But you have a overactive imagination? I am so old I fart dust but I do got lots of money...imagination? a long time ago deep in my emotional retardation..but...now the world has burned out all that remains of the child in me...

.how are you supposed to shoot my scenes without any money?

Maybe I will have 2 send u a debit card w a sticky pad with the code on it. So you can finance the scenes.

Welcome Aboard Ellison Kk .

@Ellison Kk. Not having money just means you're going to have to focus on convincing prospective Investors that you and the projects you're interested in are worth the effort.

However, I recommend you work on saving some money so you can partake of some of the Webinars here that discuss things like Producing and Oprion Agreements and raising money for projects.

As for finding projects. I would also suggest you build relationships with writers here through the lounges and then consider optioning a property.

But, no matter WHAT path you choose on your professional journey, BE HONEST!

Not just about your finances, but your.prospects. Don't pretend to have access to things you don't or make promises you're not certain you can keep.

That will result in you developing a reputation as a Con Artist here and at other places.

And yes, You will unfortunately run into Snark Monsters who will choose to be insulting rather than helpful as you move forward.

Learn to ignore them.

Great advice, Elaine Haygood. Always Be Writing. And I'd like to add that some money should be set aside. You should be investing in yourself. Maybe there's a contest you want to enter. A webinar you want to attend. A book on screenwriting or move making. You gotta be willing to put some skin in the game and make strategic, well thought-out investments in yourself in order improve and grow so you can achieve your goals.
