Distribution : How to find a manager or agent to represent my animated series for kids? by Michael Moore

How to find a manager or agent to represent my animated series for kids?

I've been producing my animated educational series for kids called Brain Candy TV for the past 8 years and it's done pretty well on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video. With many of my colleagues making the big move from running independent YouTube channels to getting distribution deals on Netflix and even their own Amazon Original Series, I'm hoping to find someone who can help me pitch the show to Netflix and/or work out a better deal with Amazon. I've read that the only way to get distribution on Netflix is to have an agent or representative pitch the show to them, but I can't seem to find good info on who to contact for representation.

If someone could point me in the right direction, or even just help me with the industry lingo on what I need to be searching for, I'd really appreciate your help. I keep hearing from parents who tell me that my series is the best educational show for kids that they've come across and they don't understand how my show isn't on Netflix and other places, but I'm just a one-man production team and I fear that I lack the industry knowledge to expand further, so hopefully I can find someone to help me expand my distribution.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael! I hear ya on getting into the gates as they say. I think keep doing what you are doing and building relationships with people via stage 32, linkedIn and also by certain educational platforms that want to get their names out there to, maybe some ads or collabs with them, just a thought. My comedy show Divorce Diaries I have done cross collabs with law firms to expand the audience and have received some sponsorhip that way. Have you reached out to PBS?

Hey Michael, I can't help out in the way of your quest for a better distribution or representation. But just wanted to say well done with what you've achieved so far! Checked your show and realised my kid watches it. Dude you've done so much and on your own! Keep going man, I hope you find what you're looking for dude. Keep doing what you're doing!

Thanks Michele. I haven't tried reaching out to PBS. It seems like they're open to unsolicited submissions, so this is something that I'll have to look into. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Lee, thanks so much for the kind message and words of encouragement. So cool that your child has watched my little show. :)
